5.25.26
We got the chance to welcome Ryan Montgomery Photography to Shadow Hawk this month for a photo shoot and he provided us with some stunning aerials and photographs of our property. We'll be using his work for some upcoming updates to our website, social media, and promotional pieces for the club. With the help of some timely rains in May, hard work by the maintenance crew, and some spectacular sunrises and sunsets, the course really shined and looked great. It was a pleasure

4.19.26 Update
The Agronomy team has been busy making improvements and modifications around the property. We've recently started our pigment spray on our pine straw beds around the clubhouse. This product gives our grounds a nice "refresh", and it allows us to add pre and post emerge herbicides to the tank as well to help eliminate any unsightly weeds, and prevent new ones from emerging. On #18 we added drainage along the cart path edge and regraded the turf to help better aid surface run

March is the best time of year at Shadow Hawk in my opinion. Winter Dormancy has given way to Spring green up and it's great to see all the turf and landscaping around the club coming into full color. As we've continued to lower the heights of cut on the putting surfaces, one observation we've noticed from them is their checkboard appearance, especially the practice putting green by #1 tee and the cocktail green. Here is a good example closer up. See the darker green turf an

2.6.26 Update
January came in hot and left cold as ice. We started the month with day time highs of 85 degrees and as we got to the end of January, we recorded low temperatures that dipped down into the low 20s. These big changes the weather threw at us left the course looking very different from how it did just 30 days ago. Thankfully our property is equipped with permeable turf covers that help insulate our putting surfaces when we get these cold snaps. The USGA recommends to cover new

1.8.26 Update
Happy New Year to everyone at Shadow Hawk and welcome to 2026! 2025 was truly a year of transformation on our property and we are excited to carry this momentum into 2026 and beyond. I had the pleasure of joining Bob McHugh (GM at Black Hawk), Justin Engel, and Mike Shoelen for a round of golf at Shadow Hawk back in December. It was my first time playing the course since the regrassing project and it was a really special experience for me. All the hours of hard work the const

12.5.25 Update
We made it! On behalf of our whole team down here in Agronomy at Shadow Hawk, we are so excited and thrilled to be open. It's been great seeing so many members out playing and enjoying the course again. I'm so very thankful for my team and all the hard work they put in over the course of the regrassing project. We are very proud of where we got the property (unfortunately 1.2" of rain that Saturday morning we opened put a bit of a damper on our presentation) but the sun ret

10.24.25 Update
Cocktail Green, first cups in the ground on 10.23.25 since we established the new putting surfaces October was a really productive month for us out on the course. The weather was hot, sunny, and dry which allowed us to achieve our goals of sodding the remaining turf on fairways without any interference from mother nature. The above normal temperatures also aided in pushing turf growth so we're in a good spot as we head into the first cold front of the season. Bobby Holmes a
